I don't think so, M37 tanks have a seam running around the middle making 2 almost identical halves, upper and lower and the tank thickness is about 8".
Pic of Tim Powell's tank and friend: Thanks Tim :D

Power Wagon maybe?

Thanks for the quick reply. I compared the one above to mine and not even close. Mine matches the one you posted.

Yes & No. I had been looking at M715's but I got a lot more bang for my buck right here with this 54 M37. I still have the M38, the MB, the CJ5 and the DJ.

Bill,
I thought the WC 1/2 ton tanks were wider, going from frame rail to frame rail. I first thought that was a Power Wagon tank, but it is not. The fuel filler is too low for a Power Wagon. The fenders in the pics appear to be M37, see how they narrow way down in the back?

You must have been right there when I posted that comment as I deleted it within 3 minutes!
Right after I posted that remark I went and looked at pic's of my wc and saw the fenders didn't go to it, funny they did not look round enough to be M-37 but the heater access panels on the pass fender look correct. I still think the fuel tank is WC ( or WDX ) but I could be wrong on that also

Hi Bill,
Ben there done that!
The fuel filler on a WDX tank comes out the side like that, but higher up, actually forming a bump on the top. This one is entirely through the side.
I dont know enough about the half tons , I have a parts truck here whose tank goes frame to frame, but whats to say it is original?

I talked with the guy that had the pallet and he said it was mis-marked and the tank is M715 but the fenders are M37.

How did that tank get punched in like that? My tank on my M37 looks very similar and had a puncture right were the dent is on the one in the pic. Never could figure out what did it.
In honor of those who've made the ultimate sacrifice.
