Mounting holes in body

I have three photos. Can someone tell me what would have been installed in the first photo? Sorry but I didn't realize the photo was sideways. The two holes are located to the left of the steering column but also there are four smaller holes for mounting a data plate above them.



Photo #2 is the left side of the bed and I believe it is for a radio antenna, correct?


Photo #3 is the left fender and I think it is where the personnel heater was mounted. Is the cutout on the hood side panel part of the installation?

The mounting holes to the left of your steering column are for a bracket that the windshield rests upon when its in its upright position. These brackets have slotted holes and can be adjusted for windshields that may sit high on one side or the other. Seems your truck is missing at least one of the brackets. Do you have the other one?

I guess I should have been clearer. I'm looking at the holes that are above each other and to the left of the two bolts on the steering column. There appears to be a data plate the to left of them and four smaller holes in a square pattern above them. I hope this clarifies the confussion.

The larger of the 2 holes next to your steering column is for the engine primer pump. small one added by someone. Square hole above heather mounts isn't original....theres smaller knockouts in that panel towards cab for heather hoses. The bed holes look like the antenna mount.

Photo 2 reveals the 6 mounting holes for the triangular AB243 antenna mount. The empty bracket that is in view is for the bed bow hold-down strap.

Thanks for the info. I have the manuals on CD so I'll have to look to see what the primer pump looks like. Do you think the smaller of the two holes was a toggle switch for a radio? ANy ideas as to the four screw holes? Maybe a data plate for heater operation?

The four screw holes above the priming pump hole should be for the winch operation data plate. Mine is without winch and it still has the holes too. Don't think anything has ever been attached as the holes are still small. The hole for the priming pump has a hole cover on mine, don't think it ever had a priming pump on it either.

The bottom hole is factory for the pump as stated. It was a large knob and you pulled it out and pushed it in to prime the engine with fuel before starting.

The other hole bubba put in for his plow lights, or his cab lights or who know what.

Yes antenna mount as stated.

Not sure on the cut out....someone did an unauthorized MWO on that I'm a thinking...

This one is mounted on my PE95K generator set and would look much like this when installed in a M37 dash, a real knee breaker

So do I need to find and re-install this primer pump if I'm restoring it to origina?

Maybe. The book (ORD 9 SNL G-741) states these were used on trucks SN (AKA frame number) 80026806 and below. If your truck falls in this range, yep. If not, you may still consider it because units often installed extra items that the factory stopped installing, like Fire Extinguishers for example. I would have thought the primer pumps would be installed on trucks up North also whether factory installed or unit installed. Traditionally, in the Military, the Commander or "Command" has the last say on what is or isn't installed on vehicles under their command.

Looks like mine falls into the SN range, 80017913. So next question would be, where does one find these?
