Marking found on M56

We found these marking on the tailgate. No marking found on the bumper, doors, hood or bumperettes. Can the history of this truck be figured out from these markings? I'd like to keep this truck as original as possible. Thanks.

My M37B1 has a 3CXXXX number, as well...
'62 M37B1- It runs AND stops!
