Axle and driveshaft color

Post by Gerry »

What was the color of the driveshafts and axles from the factory? Also was the transfer case silver to match the engine?
Thanks,
Gerry

As nearly as I've been able to determine, the chassis, suspension, and all driveline components except the engine were black. The engine was silver, but accessories such as the generator, intake/exhaust manifolds, oil filter housing, dipstick tube, oil filler tube, and air cleaner were also black, but the oil filler cap was usually red.

Lifer,I think that was in the Air Force.

The '68 B1s that we got fresh from the factory down here in those days, had green axles, suspension, driveshafts etc.
Even the engines were green with black accesories.
