Towing rating?

What is the towing capacity for a 52 M37? just a piece of information that i cannot find anywhere. Thanks in advance.

A little over 1 1/2 tons, the trailer usually pulled is the M101 series when loaded to allowable highway load (1 ton) the trailer will weigh about 3200LBS

From TM-9-2320-212-10, 1973, Tabulated Data, Page 1-5;

Recommended towed load (max.):
Cross-country..............................4,000 lb
Highway......................................6,000 lb

The TM information is Gross Trailer Weight.

Remember that most states require trailer brakes based on the trailer's gross weight. A typical weight that requires trailer brakes is 4,000 lb.

Also remember that the TM is talking about a M-37 that is maintained to proper specifications.
