who do you recomend?

Post by poor rich »

Well the old boat anchor engine is out and Im getting ready to start installing the 318 if the mechanic would just get around to checking it out. oops sorry, diffrent problem.
I found a chunk of my clutch missing, and also discovered I forgot I broke my spedometer cable just before I broke my engine.
so my shopping list is a clutch, and spedometer cable.
who would you buy or not buy from?

Rich,
I have had good luck with all of our vendors here on the forum, M-Series, Midwest Military, AB Linn, Sid Beck.
I have dealt with VPW and got the right parts, but the folks on the phone always seem rude. I call with part numbers from their catalog to make their life easier and they cut me off in mid sentence "Just tell me what your working on and what you need.....arrrr!". (I added the "arrrr" :lol: )
Make sure you renew the clutch particulars while your in there, throwout bearing, pilot bushing, pressure plate, re-face flywheel ect..

David;

You're a better man than me. I'd have hung up on the clown had he cut me off like that! I personally treat VPw as the utmost last resort for parts.....

BILL L has supplied me with alot of parts, I feel sorry for you guys that don't live as close as I do to Bill.After redoing 2 trucks and using parts from most of the out of state vendors out there, John at Midwest gets the call first. Thank you Bill and John! :D

You live close enough to sell you those to big and to heavy to ship, hard to find parts. (most good used) I know you like to poke through the barns finding stuff I did'nt even know I had. Hope to see you at the rally.
