Ethanol Blend In Our Trucks
It is now officially impossible to get straight gas here in New England. With all the hand wringing about fuel economy the do-gooders have succeded in forcing E10 on us...with the subsequent 3% loss in mileage! With the prospect of clogging the fuel system with disolved sludge and the damage to rubber bits throughout has anyone tried 100LL AVGAS in a M37? Any feedback would be appreciated.

I was on the phone with a New Englander, and he told me that the ethenol after sitting quite a while, it will draw water, and it all settles to the bottom of the tank.
He was cussing it quite badly.

The M37B1 I bought had last run sometime in 2008 as it was inspected. The tank probably has 5 gals. water sitting under the fuel. Thats why I'm trying to get it started using fresh fuel out of my boats 6 gal tank. If you want to read my real feelings go to this link of a thread on E85, mine is the second post.

water.
What about adding dry gas to the fuel whenever you buy a tankful? I use it in mine in the winter months, so far no problems.

Regarding 100LL, I use it in my M37, M151, golf cart, lawn mowers, etc., for the primary reason that it doesn't go stale. Never had a problem. My understanding is that it can be used in any engine that doesn't have a catylitic converter or an oxygen sensor. I'm certainly no expert on these matters, so I can't tell you if that is true, but it works for me.

ethanol
I use it all the time. If your fuel system is in good working order it won't be a problem. If you have issues with your fuel system then you need to correct them. I do know I get less mileage with the ethanol as you stated but I can't tell any difference in the running of the truck.
