Goodies

knattrass wrote:Nick - NAPA has all the goodies - most recommend 2 shutoffs for summer and in case you spring a leak. Also be sure to get some plastic tees to help make the various tight turns. The grommets I used were also available. Grab a fist full of hose clamps!
knatrass;

Thanks. I'll more than likely hit NAPA as soon as I get the heater. I downloaded the instructions to install off of Olive-Drab. com and it lists alot of what was said here as well, so I will take the list with me when I go.

In regard to the plumbing, I know that one hose goes to the outlet above the water pump. Where does the other one hook up? Which one is the inlet connection at the heater?

Odd-it takes me right to the part-it's a #5851 heater control valve.

Ed,
The other hose goes to the plug on top at the back of the head, passenger side, about 45 degrees back of the #6 spark plug. Remove the oil bath for a clear shot at it (that's what I'm drilling out).

Hey Ed,
Check Carter's post with the pictures of Ralph's engine-it's a perfect view!
