wanting to move the truck under its own power I slapped it back together with 3 new pistons and rings and bolted the head back on with the old gasket. fired right up pulled steady vacuum and tap tap tap... so I went to the island on sunday and picked up an ind251 and two ind 265s I will swap the pan...

if your willing to take off the pan to remove the cross over pipe you could drill the boss on the oil pump for your feed and plumb it through a couple spin on filters then drill and tap the big boss on the oil galley behind the genny and have full flow oiling and by pass and only need to buy a few f...

well its looking bleak. measured the end gap on the old top ring in no2 it took .055 to fill. the new ring measured .027......book says .010 to .020

who know how long it was run or how hot it got. it came to me on a chassis with no exhaust rad or signs of coolant. I needed to use pliers on the block drain and it was dry.....hmmm when I tested it I pulled the head, decoked, inspected, soaked bores with atf, adjusted valves, pulled and cleaned pan...

my 52 cnd has one on the cab and the box that match the numbers on the glove box but nothing on the frame..... but my old m43 and and other m37s have none ?

thanks man, I was thinking the same thing, once compressed.... it sounded ok on the floor but it didn't have an exhaust. im not puling it back out, I will do an in frame. hopefully its the bushing on the small end of no4 and not the piston. I will slide spark plug boots over the rod bolts push it ou...

got a 251 the other month. pulled the head and pan cleaned the surfaces. pulled on the rods and adjusted the valves. put it back together with some new felpro gaskets fired it up with no exhaust, she ran smooth, nice steady vacuum. swapped it into a truck got every thing hooked up pushed the button ...
