Re: Tires for my 37
I'd have to respectfully disagree with the 'better traction on wet roads' comment regarding XL's. Better ground speed - yes, as the 11.00x16's are ~39.7" tall when new. Big lugs don't make for better wet/dry road traction. On these trucks, XL's make for 'squirmier' handling, especially when com...

Re: Rejuvenating rubber firewall grommets
Straight Glycerin on old rubber... many people have used glycerin to try & bring some 'life' back into old rubber parts. Old car crowd has used it for years. http://www.cvs.com/shop/product-detail/CVS-Pure-Glycerin-USP?skuId=483707 If you don't plan to use the parts immediately after treating, p...

There's a lot of skepticism about the year of this truck - spoke with seller; data plates don't match stated Year of truck, looks like a 'title' from another truck may have attached itself to this truck...

STA - Specialty Tires of America - is based in PA... close to Ohio - http://www.stausaonline.com/light-truck/superlug.html Speedway Motors still lists availability on the STA Superlugs as well. Just another option... they're through Coker. http://www.summitracing.com/search/Department/Wheels-Tires/S...

Re: Tires for my 37
Try looking for STA Superlug tires in 900x16 size - the military was installing these tires on M101 trailers with M37 Budd rims for past few years - I've bought 4 take-off trailer tires mounted on rims in order to get good tires. Others have bought surplus M101/M101A1 trailers at auction just for th...

Re: Part Number Help - Windshield Frame
From 'another mil-vehicle website'... "To be factual. The G-741 (M37 series), G-742 (M35 series), G-744 (5 ton series), and the G-809 (5 ton series) all used the same inner windshield. On all those trucks the units made in the early 50s used two different windshields on each truck. One for the ...

...just don't 'over-restore' the truck, as many have done. People often end up making the truck better than it ever left the factory.

Re: Title help.
Matt: Have you considered 'selling' the truck to a friend in a neighboring state with looser titling laws? Let them title it (you pay for it) in their name, then they 'sell' it back to you, you 'drag' it back home (if the other state requires it to be inspected before titling) - then you title it in...

Matt - I would not use Broadway or ITS... many states will NOT accept titles washed through Alabama, as in the case of Broadway's method of business. Broadway got the slap-down for this already... They now apparently use another title service and act as a middleman. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/foru...

Re: Title help.
Hey guys. So here's the deal. I bought my m37 about 8 months ago from a "friend". I've been working on restoring it since then. Well when I bought it he couldn't find the title. So he was going to get it to me later. Well now he can't find it at all. And he tried to apply for lost title b...
