Re: 360 LA to NV 4500. What Clutch?
I have the bell housing. I just need the clutch assembly. My transmission guy gave me two 10 spline input shafts to pick from. one is for a diesel engine clutch and the other is supposed to be for a gas engine clutch.

Re: ADD-A-LEAF SPRINGS
Thanks for the input guys. I already have a winch mounted. I reckon I'll have to find some old springs or some material from a spring shop.

Re: ADD-A-LEAF SPRINGS
The weights I've seen say the 360 is about 200 lbs. more.

ADD-A-LEAF SPRINGS
I am putting a 360 into my M-37. I want to add extra leaves on the front springs for the extra weight. Does anyone know of any bolt on kits out there that will fit the stock front springs?

Re: Ugly Truckling
I think we're on different pages when it comes to the bell housing. Ugly's plan calls for a mechanical bell housing for a 360, not the original bell housing on the 230. Its the mechanical 360 bell housing and the 360 bell housing with the hydraulic clutch that i need to know about. Are they differen...

Re: Ugly Truckling
My 360 has no flywheel on it now. It had an automatic transmission originally. I am trying to mate it to the original m37 transmission. Is a bell housing with a hydraulic clutch longer than the one in the ugly truckling plans? If so will I have to make changes to the motor mounts or shorten the prop...

Re: Ugly Truckling
Maybe one of you can answer my questions. I'm putting a 360 into my m37, First, about the templates for cutouts on the frame and motor mount. Is there a drawing for those you could send. Next, I'm using the later model original tranny and a Dodge 360. I'm confused about what flywheel, clutch disc, p...

I appreciate all the input so far and look forward to hearing some more. I'm not much of a motorhead but can turn a wrench and sure am open to advice. I do understand the differences between the gas and diesel as far as torque go. I don't want to do a swap twice for sure. Thats why I'm looking for i...

V6 engine swap
What got me thinking about the V6 was the horsepower rating being close to a 4bt (I think), the fact that 318's can be bolted up with an adapter plate to the original tranny and the V6's were a derivative of the V8's, and things I've heard about V8's being hard on axles.

Dodge V6 engine swap
Has anyone attempted or would suggest attempting a Dodge V6 engine swap for an M37? I don't know alot about engines but it looks like a V6 would provide more horsepower than the 230 but not as much as a 318. The trade off would be fuel economy. Could it be done using the stock tranny in the M37 and ...
