Re: Exhaust Manifold Stud Removal
Here is some info I wrote up on changing the manifold:

be sure to use the correct brass spacers that allow for some expansion to prevent manifold cracking.

Re: Brake Problem
I crimped a short piece of brake line and connected it directly to the master cylinder, when I pressed the brake pedal it was hard as a rock.
Looking like a leaky brake cylinder now.

Re: Brake Problem
I'm having a similar problem, I'm going to install a plug in the output end of the master cylinder then pump the brakes to see how the pedal feels.

Re: Inline fuel filter recomendation
Ahhhh I see what you are saying, the fitting coming out of the top of the fuel pump is a standard pipe fitting at one end and compression at the other so some thread sealant was used on the fuel pump side.

Re: Inline fuel filter recomendation
I didnt use any thread sealant on the fuel lines, all the connections use compression fittings.

Re: Throttle lag problem
I used this vacuum gauge which includes the needed adapter: http://www.harborfreight.com/media/catalog/product/cache/1/image/9df78eab33525d08d6e5fb8d27136e95/i/m/image_13809.jpg available at finer Harbor Freight stores everywhere. Then just remove either of the brass plugs on the intake manifold as ...

Re: Throttle lag problem
I agree with ZGjethro, my timing is around 10 BTDC at 1300'. As Charles has mentioned many times the 2 ATDC in the manual is just wrong. I used a $10 vacuum gauge from Harbor Freight to get the optimal timing setting, this involved rotating the distributor until maximum vacuum was achieved. The vacu...

Re: Engine color paint code
P4529148 has been discontinued by Chrysler, 4 cans are left in the state of California spread among 2 dealers.
I'm gonna pick one up this weekend and have it color matched.

Engine color paint code
I stopped by my local PPG shop and wasn't able to find a suitable silver for the engine.
In searching around I found this part number P4529148 which is supposed to be the correct silver,
I'm going to order a can of that and have the shop match it unless someone can provide a correct
paint code?
