thanks John
Hi All, I need to tell you a little story. I bought a rebuilt part from Midwest Military, not an insubstantial sun of money in my world. In the process of mounting the part, I found it to be defective. I sent a note to John telling him of the problem and suggesting he to QC his re-builder's work a b...

welding a carb
I have an M-37 carb problem. I think the needle valve fitting was partly stripped when i got it. Anyway, in spite of my tender touch, it is now.
Thus my question: Has any one had any luck welding the aluminum (pot metal?) casting?

Re: reserecting an old friend
>When you say 2 is low, explain, 10#, 50#, 90#, what is the reading?< #2 at 30, every thing else at 90+. I haven't rechecked compression, but it runs too well to have a dead hole. >YES, REMOVE THE FRONT RIGHT WHEEL, AND IF POSSIBLE THE SIDE PANEL WHERE THE LIGHT WIRES RUN ON. UNLESS YOU HAVE ARMS WI...

reserecting an old friend
Hi Gang: Well.... I've been hiding for a while. I've had my M-37 for 15 years and put over 80,000 miles on her. last spring she laid down and I didn't have the time or money to fix her at the time (had more time than money). Fortunes have changed just enough to allow me to rebuild my engine. I went ...

Heater motor cover
need for a motor cover to protect it from rain & water from truck washing. I went through three motors before I figured this one out. I'd have you believe I figured this out on my own, but an old motor Sgt. told me about it. I cut an old Chev oil filter apart and used the shell. One kid asked if...

flat towing the M-37
Back in the day when I had both time AND money, I towed my M-37 to shows in four states with my M-292. That having been said, the '292' is HEAVY and easily over powered the 3/4 when the wheels went to the stops. That usually only happened in soft soil such as display areas. A trick I used was to hav...

straps
I have the buckles all the way to the aft, I then tie the tails of the straps around the working portion of the straps and into the loop formed by going around the working portion in what boy scouts would call a half hitch. I know it sounds more complicated than it is. Lots 'a' miles this way withou...

Gaskets
Keep this in mind if you plan to take your intake/ Exhaust manifold apart. The valve grind gasket kit I got from NAPA does not contain that gasket and you have to order it as a separate part. Felpro# FPG 8011

I attended their rally (#7) and on the way, my truck developed a TERRIBLE noise underneath. The mechanic rebuilt the transfer for $500 and when we took it out for a test drive it was still making the noise. It turned out to be the rear dif. Butler then sold me a dif for $350 at a time when they were...

It shouldn't have even run
Last November, I HAD to move some stuff and HAD to use the M-37. It had been sitting for over a month outside when the opportunity came about to get rid of some old tires. It was the coldest day of the year so far and I had to use the 3/4 to go out in the back field and drag them out. It started, re...

Re: Lifer - you sould come & visit me!
NO ONE seems got get the idea that repeaters should be on the TOPS of hills. There are so many techno-black holes around here, it is like RF swiss cheese! We have an area around here, near the river. We call it "the valley of the shadow of no RF", and there ain't no hills for repeaters. We...

I had a similar problem and found it to be bad ground of the tank. I ran a wire from one of the screws on the tank to the ground (mounting lug) for the tail light. Problem solved.
