Thanks. Mine moves a bit over 2" side to side. Thought that was excessive.

Gearshift Play: 4th

Was just wondering...

When in 4th, how much 'side-to-side' movement is in the stick (measured at the top of the gearshift)?
1-2", 3-4", none

Yeah, great technical question.

Any luck finding the issue?

Re: Winch Hole Plug

This is not a historical restore so it's a low priority item. The hole just bugs me.
Eventually I'll find one or figure something out.

Re: New to me '52 M37

Changed the plugs and tossed the resistance wires for solid core. The .mil distributor had the waterproof cap removed to expose the inner cap and had regular wires. Now I know why. The waterproof wires are expensive! Ended up making a custom length set. 8mm wires fit perfectly into the inner cap tow...

just me wrote: Fri May 17, 2024 5:16 pm I'd just cut out a piece of sheet metal, fit it tightly and tack it in in 4 places to mimic the original punch out.
Is it a punch out or a plug? I've never seen one.

Re: Turn Signals not working

I have redone all the grounds and replaced bulbs. I checked all connections and cleaned and reconnected. I have lights in all the right places but no flashing. Still have the .mil flasher unit? Swap it for a 24v civilian flasher. A two pole will work. There are 3 wires going to the.mil flasher, one...

Winch Hole Plug

Has anyone successfully found a plug for the winch lever hole in the drivers floor? Just doesn't seem right to tack weld a cover..

What have you used, if anything?

Re: New to me '52 M37

Pertronix units don't like copper plug wires Confused... This is a MIL distributor. I was told if you have the military waterproof distributor, metallic core (copper) cables are preferred. If your distributor has been replaced with a civilian type distributor, a non metallic core cable must be used...

Re: New to me '52 M37

Next question:
There are AC Delco R45 plugs in it now. The previous owner used regular wires from the .mil distributor.

The points have been changed to the Pertronix module. Any suggested change in plugs or gap?

Wanted to get there but the grandkid had a game. Priorities and such...

Maybe next year I'll get the beast started and get there. It's only 1.5hrs by car, 3hrs by M37.

Raining here but the want to drive around the lake is tempting. A 1.5hr drive would be great at 80deg.
