Re: Need help installing new rubber headlight bushings
So the secret to install them is it is really a two-man job. I took them to a friend who makes a living as an expert mechanic. He put a small hose clamp about 1/2" from the end of the bushing. As I pressed the bushing into the hole, he used a flat tip screwdriver to get the edges into the hole....

Re: Need help installing new rubber headlight bushings
OK, I got my rubber bushings from Vintage Power Wagon. They had no metal bushing inside the hole. I am going to try and use a press with some sleeves and get them in. Thanks for the reply.

Re: Need help installing new rubber headlight bushings
There is no metal bushing. There is a bolt that goes through the rubber part that mounts the headlight to the bracket. Yes, I am trying to push the rubber bushing through the bracket without the bolt in place. I can try boiling them, but they are new supple rubber. Thanks for the help.

How to route the wire to battery box for slave receptacle
I have a 62 M37B1 that I am restoring. It came with a slave rec. but the + lead was not hooked up.
I am about to reinstall the slave rec. How is the + wire routed to the battery box? Under the floor or under and into the box below the driver's seat and across to the battery box?

How to get spark plugs wires black again
I have a 62 M37B1 that I am restoring. The black plastic covering on the plug wires has come off. The wires work just fine and I really don't want to spend the money for new ones just so they are black. I tried painting them, but the mesh just appears to absorb the paint and the copper color comes r...

I am looking at a truck without any glass. Does anyone have a good source and or cost for window and windshield glass for a 1951 truck?
