Thanks, It is a military oil pump and distributor. So if they go together only one way it should be reasonably close, perhaps I only need to retard or advance the spark a little to get it to start, right? I finally got a new coil, rotor, and electronic ignition installed in the distributor. I put the rotor at #1 plug and put the cap and cover back on tried to seat the distrubutor.
