Re: Source for New Transfer Case Seals
The part numbers mentioned in the reference for this application are National seal (SKF) 410308 or CR seal 21213. which are correct however they utilize Nitrile rubber which loses it durability at 250 degrees which is probably very close to the operating temp. of a shaft in the transfer case if its ...

Re: Major restoration of 1958 M37.
Actually the marking on the bolt heads, if you look closely, is the letters d p c d which stood for Dodge Plymouth Chrysler Desoto. It may appear to be just DB because the stem of the p is lengthened down to work as the back of the d under it, which may lead in such a small space to be seen as a B. ...

The brand of points does make a difference, as it happens nowdays the StandardBrand Blue Streak points are the very best Al4556XP(Standard also has a cheap line that come in a red box), most other brands now sell the same low quality chinese made ones. Points, once the standard were a thing of the p...

I remember meeting Mr Ahl many yrs. back at the east coast rally shortly after he had gotten his M-37 he didnt know anything about it or any MV really. He fixed it up marginally(to him it was restored) like Mr Talbert remarked. He really wasnt qualified to write a definitive book on the subject, but...

I met Sid back around 1980 when we were both in the DC area chapter of MVPA (MVCC then). He and 2 others there were already operating ACE, eventually it was just him. Later his job took him to texas where he resides today, after retiring he worked more on ACE and obtained a good stock of m-37 surplu...

One thing you will need to do is set up the pre-load on the 2 output units brgs. This is an important step since its these bearings that cause the noise so common to the NP200. They are tapered brgs. just like in a differential. an like in a diff. if they arent set up right they will sing. You will ...

The early type switches would be worth more to someone wanting an orignal type switch in there early MV, they are clearly different in appearance, and can be harder to find now. However if you were to use the 1st design you would have to have a 2 piece rear harness for the veh. if you wanted any wir...

As an owner of both an m-37 and a m-715, I want to make a few statments of fact. I like both trucks, but they are quite different in many aspects, the 715 was designed an built 17 yrs later than the m-37, it was designed heavier w/ a 5/4 ton rating. These m series trucks do IN FACT use the Kaiser Je...

Yes its unlikely any 37's were still in service long enough to fall under that MWO, however its easy enough to install one if you wanted. All you need is the alt and the wiring kit which are on ebay or avial through most MV vendors now. The 100 amp kit was for trucks equipped w several radios or oth...
