Re: Sometimes it is the little things that slow us down...
I am in the process of building a swamp /evaporative cooler using the heaters blower.
I will put it between the front seats with a vent pointing fore and aft.
Then the windows will be closed anyway.
It's very dry here most of the time.
I will post pics when done

Re: Sometimes it is the little things that slow us down...
I have been fooling with my windows for over a year.
New channels and over 100 hours later
They don't work.
I have kinda gave up
Tape em shut in the winter and only use the passenger door.
Put em down all the way in the summer and let the rain in.
I get pissed just thinking about it.

We think the roller has much less miles on it than my m34b1
It's been outside in a dry climate for so long that it has no grease on it.
But no rust and when we opened the diff it was all shiny and clean

Re: hi all. new kid here. M43B1 owner
I broke the drivers side rear axle so I pulled the differential and saw a little damage
Luckily my buddy found a rolling chassis for 200 bucks so I got new axles and a good looking diff installed.
The replacement axles are cast and the originals are machined

Power steering mount issues
Loud noise from the steering yesterday
One of the bolts on the box let go.
Trying to figure out how to beef it up but there is VERY little room to work with.
The frame flexes as well
An incredible amount of stress right there

Re: hi all. new kid here. M43B1 owner
I dont wanna jinx myself But i think the ambulance might be mechanically done. I will keep taking it on short trips and if nothing pops up I will completely trust it to go anywhere. If so Now comes the fun part Painting and tidying up the interior. Restoring all the cool plates on the dash New steer...

found a write up on how to wire the alternator.
I get confused easily with electrical stuff and will try my best
Going to swap pulleys this morning and call the parts store to see if they have the plug in yet

Re: Kids love military trucks!
I pick up my 2nd grader grandson at school sometimes.
In the ambulance with both mascots on security duty.
Even the teachers and crossing guards love it.
