Re: Problem accelerating after coasting
Thank you for the suggestions. I will have to explore each one to see if my problem goes away. Back to the garage.

Problem accelerating after coasting
I have been trying to figure out a problem with my 62 M37 and I need some help from the experts. The problem is as follows: If I am coasting down a hill when I press the gas pedal to continue driving there is no response from the engine (like a dead spot). I will pump the gas pedal and after a few p...

Re: Dead spot in carburetor-intermittant
I took out the accelerator pump and noticed the cup was slightly deformed. It was a little uneven on one side. I plan to replace the pump and see if that fixes the problem. Everything else on the engine checks out. Again, thanks for all the help.

Re: Dead spot in carburetor-intermittant
Update: Did the vacuum check and everything was fine. I am thinking accelerator pump at this point. When I revved the engine checking the vacuum, the flat spot appeared. Again, thanks for the advice.

Re: Dead spot in carburetor-intermittant
Thanks for the advice. I'll check everything out, but it looks like it will probably be the accelerator pump. I'll let you all know what I find out.

Dead spot in carburetor-intermittant
I have a problem with what I think is the carburetor. These are the symptoms I have noticed: * When I blip the throttle the engine revs on the first push of the gas pedal but is flat on subsequent pushes. * When I am in the processes of shifting gears, there is a flat spot, like I'm out of gas, when...

Re: Oil pump and distributor installation
I had the same thing when I reassembled by engine. I installed the oil pump 180 degrees off which placed the slot in the proper position and I then installed the distributor. Not sure if the book or the distributor was wrong but my method worked.

Looking for a center support bracket for the tailgate
I am looking for a center support bracket for the tailgate. Can't seem to find one as no vendor has them in stock. If you have a bracket for sale or know a vendor who sells them, please let me know.

Speaking of tailgates. Does anyone know where I can get a center support for the tailgate. Mine is missing and I would like to replace it. Thanks.

Re: Brake line routing
I followed TM9-8031-2 and TM9-8030. These manuals showed the routing for brake lines, fuel lines, and vent lines. Pictures covered the whole frame but you have to look at a few pictures to get the full layout. Bundling the lines from the master cylinder forward on the driver's side is the hardest pa...

Re: Part numbers make no sense
Not sure but I do know that a M37 wiring harness costs a lot more than $120.00.

Re: Brake bleeding woes
Just a thought. Is the valve on the master cylinder vent open if you are manually bleeding the brakes?

Re: M37 Dodge front & rear shocks
John: The Gabriel Fleetline Shock numbers I used are Front=85303 and Rear=85302. The front shocks fit perfect but, on the rear the driver's shock seemed to be a little short in length. The only thing I can think of is the driver's side has more leaf springs as my truck is an M37B1. Also, try searchi...

Re: TEMP SENDING UNIT
I think the item you are looking at is part of the crankcase ventilation system. If so, there should be a tube going to the intake manifold near the carb. Hope this helps.
