Re: NDT Rot!
thats just a bit of checking... once upon a time you could buy check fill. :P ndts are not like car tires they have a casing and cap and it is the health of the nylon cords on the inside that matters most. now you would never want a dot inspector to see the checking..... and tread older than 10 year...

Re: BC canada banning MV's ?
with us Canadians not having a national military club it will be a challenge to coordinate efforts of those willing to fight . we could see donations requested to help fund a class action. I am doing my part by informing and notifying those in my contacts hoping for support or enlistment in the caus...

pre and post trip inspections are a must. complete nut and bolt check. grease all 32 fittings. check levels. carry all the tools and supply's that were needed for the pre trip inspection. make sure your jack will fit under the axle with a flat  4ft jackall is too small to lift the back :x chai...

Re: ignition help please!
how do you pop off the chain cover ? sounds like a big job, front mount, crank pulley ...... if your concerned with valve timing just pull the valve covers or a screwdriver in the spark plug hole. does the pump prime by hand ? pull on leaver till the action stops or does it keep on pumping ? even if...

I suspect its the new throttle pump boot. some I have sanded down and the flat spot is smaller but in no way perfect. mostly its when coming down a big hill decelerating get to the bottom give her the beans and nothing. many kits later and the pr...

Re: M37 Mystery Problem
Take your distributor cap off and see if you can spin the rotor by hand. It should not move. what about the mechanical advance ? rotor should turn a bit and be smooth. electrical problems dont cure themselves over a fortnight. did you pull the plugs ? sounds like wet plugs. if there is gas pooling ...

Re: 1953 M37 Project
big job, good progress! 50g 3m twist locks on a die grinder are your friend. they are so much faster than a wire wheel and less likely to take out an eye. also a wire wheel will polish more rust than it removes. twist locks are also great at blending steel and hiding poor welding skills. also the hi...

Re: Transfer case work.
Ive never seen a speedie sleeve fail personally, however my buddy Terry worked for BC transit and said it was a common occurrence on the old Detroit powered buses.... granted they saw more miles in a year than most m37s have seen over the last 68 years.

Re: Transfer case work.
easy job doing the seals its re setting the pre load that can get tricky... better to file down a thick spacer than to rum multiple thin shims. speedie sleeves will work in a pinch but if the sleeve fails it will eat the seal in seconds. better to weld and turn your yokes or run two thinner seals or...
