MVs Needed for Spokane Lilac Day Parade, May 15th...
I was contacted by the guy arranging rides for all of the veterans groups for this parade.
So, who's in?
(Spread the word to the jeep and heavy truck guys as well, would ya?)
I'll be the point of contact, shoot me an e-mail for details...

Waving furiously from Rockford, WA...
HEY! HEY! HEY!
I'm 27 miles Southeast of Spokane, close to the Idaho border, with an M-37 in pieces that we can ponder while we drink our beer!

Last Call for "Mazo Mike"...
Hi guys... I've been hauling Chris Davis' old stock M 37 powerplant ever since I left California, after it was bought by "Mazo Mike" out of Wisconsin (this would have been in 2002, for him to come get it here in WA. Okay, that was 2002, and it's 2010. Mike, you've got 30 days to contact me...

Good to know, but here's the second question...
If the sleeves have been worn down or damaged, should a machine shop replace them? Should I be looking for a particular set of qualifications?

M-37 engine...
A re-occurring theme in this forum is swapping out the original engine for something with a little more "oomph", and there are folks who have "re-powered" their rigs so that they can get up to the highway speeds of today's road. To me, "re-power" means that you are tryi...

T-245 Engine Questions...
I've got the engine stripped down as far as it can go without special tools, and, of course, I have a question: 1) The engine has cylinder sleeves, and they look pretty humble. Should I attempt to replace them, or send them in to a professional engine re-builder for this part of the process? More qu...

"First Night"
When I posted that I had finally acquired the M-37, John Woerheide sent me an e-mail saying: "CONGRATULATIONS, I'm jealous, and I bet you will walk around it a million times tonight." It got me thinking, and you know, he was right... This is dedicated to all of us who salvage old war-horse...

Smudge Pots...
Kudos on all of the information shared about your mystery box... Those smudge pots also look like the things we used on the rifle range to blacken our sights... So there is a slantways military connection, if you wanted to go there...

The "Jaw"...
On the front of the stock engine, at the front of the crankshaft, is the "jaw" which allows the operator to hand crank the engine. In order to remove the timing chain cover (and the rest of the greeblies under there) for eventual removal of the crankshaft, this "jaw" must be remo...

Fluids and lines...
Have you ever noticed that there's a whole lot of discussion over what fluids to use in a truck that's over 50 years old? Somebody asks: "What sort of brake fluid should I use?" and there's an immediate answer of "Use this type." but then somebody chimes in "You can use that...

Haven't posted in forever, probably ought to just consider myself a "second time newbie"... Just got back from the desert (yeah, THAT desert): New project truck ('52 M37 - numbers to follow), new other half, new life. Removed LU-2 winch, front steel, fenders, et all, last few weekends, fin...
