Hello: The usual problem is indeed the set screw that sets the shifter fork to the shifter shaft. Usually the shaft will be wallowed out beyond recovery, unless you drill out your set screw hole and put in a bigger one. What happens is the dog clutch becomes hard to shift, it will not slide easily o...

M37 Parts
I have received a "pile" of M37 Dodge parts, including manifolds, air cleaner shrouds, fuel pumps, fuel pump repair kits (kits are US made with good diaphragms), RH winch bumpers, steering gears and etc. Most are NOS . Also NOS Electric Autolite 6 volt starters for the WWII WC Dodge. I hav...

I have owned my M37 since 1976. I have probably driven it 7 or 8 thousand miles, including from Los Angeles to Texas and Texas to WA State where it now resides. The old truck has never failed me - I can let it sit up there for 4 or 5 months at a time and it always starts on about the third revolutio...

The early M37's up into 1952 did not have the in tank fuel filter. The filter was mounted in front of the voltage regulator. The later in tank filter is much better at filtering out junk. I have found a few complete units with the cover, fuel tank vent, pick up tube and the filter. They will not arr...

Here is another method of repairing the rust that forms under the headlights. First thing is to grind off and remove the rivits holding the reinforcing bracket to the fender. Then, clean out all the rust - sandblast and use a phosphoric acid metal prep. Then prime everything with a good primer. Next...

I had a similar problem with my 1941 Chevrolet 1.5 ton military truck. The tank was so bad that the rust coming off would plug up the pick up line. The fix was to remove the tank and take it to Tank ReNu. No problems since. also, on our old M37's, in addition to the tank shedding rust, the fuel line...

Flexible Brake Lines
I have had a number of customers with this problem and have dealt with it myself. The rubber hoses swell up inside and while many times you can force fluid to the wheel cylinder, it will not release.
I have all of the flex hoses (three in front and one in the rear) at decent prices. Sid

M37 Wiring
Hi Guys: One really inexpensive way to go when replacing your wiring is to use one of the front and one of the rear harnesses that I have. They were made in Europe and are an exact match for the M37 vehicle. They do not have the little metal tags and the wires are color coded. They utilize the Dougl...
