M37 snatch block?

Anyone have a pic or the make/model/measurements of the snatch block used with the winch models?

The A-frame kit (TB9-2300-248-30) for the G741 trucks shows this snatch block:

I believe that it is a UW6. I have several of these on hand, and they seem about the right size. The block is in the ORD 9 book as p/n 7376463, Group 2001.1, but the description doesn't include a model or pulley diameter.

There's one for sale on eBay now, although it's a bit rough, with a broken part of the pulley, etc. But if you only need it for display, it might do. https://www.ebay.com/itm/265627963245?h ... R9rO6sPmYA

Found an inexpensive one. Disassembled, blasted, primed and painted. Looks better than new!

How small a diameter
Snatch block can you use without damaging the cable, significantly shortening its life, or turning the cable into something resembling a curly pig’s tail?

Used it with my M37 winch - I’m concerned the diameter is a bit on the small side. On the other hand, the diameter of the self-releasing snatch block I use with the logging winch on my tractor is not much bigger, and I use 10mm (3/8”+) swaged wire rope on that all the time without any problems.

Sheave diameter is dependent on wire rope diameter, construction, and application. There are tables online from the various wire rope manufacturers and distributors that give minimum sheave diameters.

As the sheave diameter decreases, strain and wear on the wire rope increases.

For the M37 winch, I would be very reluctant to use a pulley with a sheave diameter less than six inches.
