Oil Pressure Gauge Fogging Up

Bought a new oil pressure gauge. It is, I think, a new style as it has white plastic sides rather than clear plastic sides and the rim is thicker than the original.
When the engine starts up , the gauge fogs.
Any one else have this issue?
Do you just have to accepted or can something be done?
I read on another forum that people have installed resistors to limit the voltage and reduce the heat because the moisture cant be rmoved. Is that possible? It seems like it might cause false readings.
