ETW1 Step Up Piston Gasket Is it needed

The carb kit I bought did not include this round gasket. My carb did not appear to have one in it when we took it a part.

I was able to come up with a round flat gasket that will fit well enough to be installed how ever, the thickness of the gasket
will raise the piston up slightly which also raises the step up rod in the jet.

Is this gasket needed? Does the stup up od ned to be able to close the step up jet?

Yes, it is. It won't run right without it. Sometimes you find one where someone has stuffed two gaskets in there, they don't run right, either.
