Driver's Seat Q?

Post by knattrass »

We finally installed the new driver's seat frame last night. We got it from MWM, sandblasted, primed, painted, beautiful. The only problem was that the frame made contact with passenger seat box. We needed to move the driver's seat outboard but could not figure any easy way. We ended up elongating the 4 hinge mounting holes on the adjustors - this gave us a 1/4" clearance and allowed the seat to tip forward without scratching the heck out of our new paint! We noticed a little tiny metal hook that attached with 2 little screws to the inboard side of the frame. Any ideas what this goes to? I am guessing that there was some type of strap that stopped the seat from over rotating forward and hitting the horn? Anyone?

Sounds like you got a M43 passenger seat... they have a clip on the right side that keeps it from tipping forward.
