Oil bath filter for carburator

Post by investig8 »

Hello all,
Is there a paper filter replacement for use inside the oil bath filter on the carburetor? I have seen the small ones but really would like to keep the original and love the way it looks but don't want to mess with the oil part of it...
Thanks for your help,
Dennis

I am not aware of any paper or foam elements. But my oil bath is no hassle at all for filtering, and occasionally cleaning.

The oilbath unit only needs a clean-out annually.

Not a lot of work, and it never clogs up.

On the 715, there was a kit to replace the oil bath when a governor was fitted. The Donaldson unit is physically 4 times larger than the oil bath for the same filtering ability.

Thanks to all that replied, I wasn't aware that the oil bath didn't need "servicing" every three months... Looks like I'll keep it!
Thanks again
