Wanted M37 hat

Post by Paddyofurniture »

I am looking for a good cheap hat with M37 and a truck photo to wear when I go to the VA.

Any one know of a source?

Thanks!

This came up a few years ago. A few of us guys were wanting a cap to wear at events and shows so we could recognize each other as M37 folk.

There was a lot of talk about it. Seems like no one wanted to take on the project. Eventually one bloke took up the cause and had some blue caps made with yellow letters on the front saying G741. He had a limited run made and sold them. I got one and wore it for awhile at shows but never saw anyone else with one. Lots of people asked what the G741 meant, so I got to explain our trucks.

Those were the hats Carter ordered for us-I still have mine and it is virtually a foreign language when folks see it. Nobody asks, and the only other one I've seen was Don's (M60TC) at a show in Montana a few years back.

I wear mine every year at least once or twice at the IA power wagon rally.
Have to rotate between g741 hat and my pw hats.

Most at the rally know what g741 means, but out in public here at home I've had to explain it
A few times.

There are folks with computer controlled sewing machines who can stitch whatever you want onto a hat. There would likely be a design charge, and then a charge per hat. A non-profit I'm associated with had some hats made up a few years ago with their logo and single-color stitching. They ended up selling them for $15, so I don't imagine the design charge was too bad. The key would be getting a good photo or drawing for them to work from that would look good done in just one (or a few) colors.
