11th Annual Graves Mountain MV Trailrides (Virginia-USA)

Post by CGarbee »

11th Annual Graves Mountain Military Vehicle and Vintage 4x4 Trail Rides and Rally!
Labor Day Weekend
August 29-September 2, 2019
https://gravesmountaintrailrides.com/

A fun filled weekend of trailriding, parts-swapping, and fellowship in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia open to all Military Vehicles and to Civilian Vehicles 25 years old and older (newer vehicles allowed by approval of the organizers)
We will be having the trailrides/rally at Graves Mountain Lodge in Syria, Virginia again this year over the Labor Day Weekend on August 29 – September 2, 2019 (event officially starts on the Thursday before Labor Day).
We will be having multiple guided trailrides each day on the property that are geared both for the novice and experienced trail riders. We will also have group road rides (convoys) on the local forest and State routes Rides. In addition to the rides, there will have plenty of time to enjoy the amenities of Graves Mountain Lodge and the surrounding area both on your own and in groups.
Saturday afternoon we will be having “truck games” in the big field followed by Eastern North Carolina Style BBQ and other delicacies at the Pavilion. Sunday evening we will have our traditional bonfire in the big camping field.
There is no extra charge for vending or haul trucks and trailers and you can use as much space in the big field as you need for camping/display. Rooms and cabins are also available through Graves Mountain Lodge for those who don’t wish to camp.
Chuck will have t-shirts for sale at the event.

For those that are able, we are providing an opportunity this year for folks to become members of our “Trail Crew”. If you are able to come to either one (or both) of our trail maintenance weekends, you’ll get a special event t-shirt and half priced admission to the event. These weekend will be July 4-7, 2019. The good folks at Graves Mountain Lodge (the location of the Labor Day weekend trailrides/rally) put on a really good 4th of July celebration (band, food, fireworks, facepainting, and other activities for the kids/family)…. (Note, the second Trail Crew work weekend has been canceled since we are ahead of schedule with the "to do list").

Contact me in advance of either work weekend to verify meeting locations and times and to be put on the Trail Crew list.

Send your event registrations in early to ensure that you get the early bird registration rate and to assist us in event planning.

Just a reminder since it is almost time for the gathering!

Remember that we have lots and lots of space in the big camping field so bring whatever you want to sell/trade/donate...
There is no extra fee for vending or for taking up an acre or two of space for all your vehicles and gear...

Rough camping is included in the registration, cabins/motel rooms are available at the Lodge.

Looking forward to seeing everyone again this year, and to getting to meet those who will be attending for the first time...

I just wanted to thank everyone that made it to the rally.
I'd also like to thank those who's efforts made it a great weekend, especially:
Steve, Laura, and the gang from Rockridge Offroad
"Al Harvey" and Mike "SCSG-G4"
Chuck "BMan" and Sonny
Rad and Euan
The Graves family and the staff at Graves Mountain Lodge

We'll do it again next year, with just a few tweaks to enhance the experience for everyone.

Meanwhile, I have uploaded my photos and those from a few other folks to my flickr account at:
