For your approval & viewing pleasure, a shot of the od godess in the shed with her new outdoor paint scheme.
The other picture is the lower left hand outside corner of the windscreen frame. It will be my next project, I bout a replacement, but I think my welding skills will allow me to do the repair myself?

BTW, Thanks Will for shedding some light on the picc'y posting!

The stock vac wipers have a classic look, I think that w/your power plant, you should have better/more vacuum?

It is the Gillespie Coatings (Marine Green, it is after all a Navy vehicle) I bought it a couple of years ago @ Aberdeen from AJP, just cracked my third gallon. I have been using Bill Wincapaw's Recipe, 3-1-1 I think is what it is?

Paint...

Post by Nickathome »

Man that is one shiny ass paint job, I mean that as a compliment.... My F-150 doesn't look that shiny and thats even after a coat of Turtle Wax Ice :o

BTWOT- if you haven't tried Turtle Wax Ice on your primary vehicle you should. Some dude at work put me onto that stuff, and it is the simply the best car polish I have ever used. Goes on clear and if it gets onto anything plastic and black, no matter, it shines everything.......great stuff.

I am told that eventually, it will fade a little, not much.
At some point, when it's all done, I might re-sand the entire vehicle & shoot it all again? My next project is;

Thanks for the complement Nick!

Bruce, what 3-1-1 recipe of Bill's is that? Also, have you ever seen a navy M37 painted grey?

Carter,

I have no idea what the "recipe" is, but I've seen lots of gray Navy M37s. Even though I was career Air Force, I was born into a Navy family. They look just fine in gray. :D

"I've seen lots of gray Navy M37s"

Lifer I have never seen any grey ones at all, only army and marine green however I did paint one VW desert tan years ago (about 1972) before the US was involved in middle east desert warfare just to be different & I thought it looked cool. I have a pic around here that if I can locate I'll post

Me Too!

Post by m-37Bruce »

But this truck has never been gray, od twice, red twice......well red once & sort of orange/red another time, w/lots of silver trim. But never gray?

I was wrong on the recipe, it's two-one-one, two parts paint, one xylene & one hardener, if I'm wrong, Bill will come up here w/ a drum of whup-@ss just for me. <lol>
I just hung the driver's door, much easier w/o the glass in it!
