Another Horn Question

Post by carolinamv »

I circled the part im talking about in red. How much should that contact stick out of where its seated to make the horn function correctly? right now I have to mash pretty hard to get it to honk and still sometimes it doesn't. Thanks troopers.

It is missing the clip that retains it. That will set the height when installed.

I see that clip in the photo; my contact sits flush against it. If you're having to push that hard you might consider adding an O ring under the contact lip to add a little more height.

That pic is the insulator. There is a C-clip that holds the wire end at the correct position. It is in the TM picture. (I don't see a clip in the top pic. It looks like antiseize on the insulator.) A thin ring of gasket material under the lip of the insulator might help to raise it to position.

Do the major parts guys have the clip?

Page 2-73 on the TM shows the picture and all the parts listed. I don't see any extra clip?
