I don't know of any rebuild kit that is available today. Most likely it will need attention that would not be provided for in any rebuild kit to get it right anyway.

We can disassemble, clean, inspect, and rebuild it as needed for you. It is best also to upgrade the front section to a sealed bearing. Chances of keeping oil in the reservoir to lube the front bearing as original is worse than slim to none.

John, a few build kits would be good stock on hand. My concern as always would be the condition of NOS seals. I'm sure you know if the front bearing oil reservoir rear seal doesn't hold, oil is dumped into the armature / brush area of the unit. This of course renders the unit inoperable in a short time, plus it's generally a huge mess to clean out. Are you able to furnish specific info as to condition of the seals in the kit?

Charles, what would be the turn around time on a rebuild. I am specifically interested in the sealed bearing, as I did not know about the oil reservoir, and have not filled it in the 6 years I have had my truck. Any new or rewiring wiring would be welcome also

Turn around time to build yours would depend on what we have on our rebuild table when yours comes in. We try to keep some rebuilt units on the shelf that we could exchange with you, or if you prefer yours be rebuilt and returned, we can do that as quickly as possible.
