pcv valve

took apart the pcv valve for service is it supposed to have a spring inside?my weasel and jeep both had springs if I remember correctly, this one doesn't? :?:

Mine didn't either. I believe that it relies on the weight of the internal part (sorry - the name of that doodad escapes me now) for regulation. As you remember, it has some serious heft to it.
