Distributor Oil?

Post by knattrass »

If I recall, you guys said to apply some engine oil to the wick on the top of the shaft. There is a side plug on the housing for oil but I couldn't find how much - assuming that you use engine oil? How much? I noticed there was a seal missing on the main ign wire #12 and found one from NAPA. The rest of the housing was cleaned with mineral spirits.

Remove the plug from the elbow, add engine oil to the point of overflow, install the plug. The felt under the rotor at the top end of the shaft just needs a few drops. Oiling should be done at every engine service interval.
