Engine side panel (picture added)

My truck had a fender heater mounted on the left fender with hoses running through 2 holes in the side panel into the engine. I removed the heater and my question is did the panel have knock out holes or did they drill out the holes? I am trying to get it looking original.

They are knock-out holes. No sheet metal drilling required. I've got one mounted on my truck if you need pictures. I also have the installation manual if that would help you.

Btw, the heater, (which you will want mounted and working in CT) is as "original" as you can get. They are a stock military "accessory" authorized in your climate zone. They work great and if you don't want it, I be interested in it as a "spare" if it is complete.

The blower motor was frozen. but the reason I didnt repair it was I just didnt like the look of the metal duct over the dash.

Btw, you can get replacement motors from NAPA. Also, they are available from other vendors (the usual suspects).

I'll definitely take that defroster duct if you don't want it.

These are the holes I was talking about. Are they correct? Next to the 6 on tape you can see part of a smaller knockout hole.

Those look way too big to me. The smaller one by the six on the tape measure looks about the right size.

I agree that the holes that you are filling in look a bit large. The holes in my side panel are just a little over 3/4" dia.

Looks like you're well on your way to repairing your side panel, but if you don't like the result that panel (NOS) sells on Ebay for $20. Just let me know if you need the link. I bought 2 last year and they're perfect, and include the rubber welting.
