Hi Guys,
Well.....I just placed an order for a gallon concentrate of something called Esprit Rust Remover (www.rustdepot.com). It's supposed to be the same as Evapo-Rust but much cheaper. One gallon of Esprit makes 10 gallons of remover and costs about $75 including shipping. Two 5 gallon pails of Evapo Rust would cost me about $200 shipped. I read the reviews of the stuff and talked to the guy who sells it..........and it's supposed to be the same as Evapo.....just cheaper.
I LOVE Evapo-Rust, but I need something to handle the larger parts, such as seat springs, crankshafts, etc. I'm always looking for odd shaped containers for special parts that would reduce the amount of Evapo I'd need, but it will still take gallons of the stuff to cover the odd parts. So I'm giving this stuff a shot. I'm wondering if anyone has beat me to the punch and tried this Esprit stuff?
I realize that electrolysis is the obvious answer to the large part problem.....but I'm a simple guy....so dropping the parts in a bucket or container and coming back the next morning without worrying about frying a battery charger or gettin in trouble for using all my girlfriend's cookie sheets for anodes is my prefered way of removing rust. I'll try electrolysis when the weather breaks......but for now........anybody use this stuff?
regards,
bob
