What's This Hole For ???

Hi Guys,

I was looking at my windshield in regards to another post and noticed this hole for the first time. Can someone tell me what it's for? It appears to be threaded on the inside. Is this maybe where a bracket for the fording kit attaches??

It works good don't it...

To be honest I don't know what the hole is for and all the ones I've seen have looked to have been done post factory as they are never clean looking holes much like yours. Maybe there was a modification done in the field on these trucks? Sorry I can't be more than a smarty pants on this one.

Funny you asked about that bolt today Bob, as I was out in the garage this afternoon eyeballing that bolt, remembering Bruce's mount for the passenger side mirror. Lo and behold, there it is again!
Mine is just "in place", not securing anything but that big square washer....

Although I have never had one, I believe the hole is for the fording kit's air intake extension pipe's support bracket.
