Oil Filter
Is there a current oil filter that is an exact fit for the 230cid? Tried search, but got fuel filter hits!
Re: Oil Filter
Thanks! I assume it's a good idea to at least partially fill the oil filter chamber before putting the lid back on? In the old days, I'd put almost a quart in the spin-on filter before install so the oil pressure (and flow) would come up faster.

That's what I do when it's oil & filter change time.WarrenD wrote: I assume it's a good idea to at least partially fill the oil filter chamber before putting the lid back on?

Thanks again, Carter! It's remarkable what memories come back from wrenching on my first car in my college days...even more remarkable considering the number of alcohol-numbed brain cells of that long ago era!

Re: Oil Filter
Wix 1100 will also work. I know there are others most with the 1100 number except Fram I believe and I don't have that number handy.
Re: Oil Filter
Thanks, NAPA works for me as I have one of their main distribution centers just up the block.

Re: Oil Filter
The WIX part # is 51100. The 1100 number only applies to NAPA.snowdad wrote:Wix 1100 will also work. I know there are others most with the 1100 number except Fram I believe and I don't have that number handy.
