Has anyone else experienced a problem getting the fan belt back on after a military alternator swap? While the Prestolite alternator is almost exactly the same size as the generator, I noticed that the cooling fins hit the oil filler tube and prevents it from moving away far enough to get the belt back on. Can I just get a slightly longer belt or should I try and remove the filler tube to get the last bit of adjustment?
thanks!

Re: alternator swap fan belt question
A longer belt will certainly be far less trouble.
