Distributor question

Post by powerwagontim »

Hi Guys,
I have an NOS distributor for the M37. Prior to installing it, I was curious where the major adjustment bolt should be, in other words, there is a slot in the plate with a bolt into the base of the distributor, (I am NOT referring to the other slot that has the bolt into the engine block.) My gut tells me it should be in the center of the slot as an initial setting, but sometimes what my gut tells me turns out to be gas!
Thanks in advance,
Tim

It should be set at dead center of the slot, unless you have internal wear with something else that effects timing, it will work there.

Thanks Charles,
I reasoned it should be in the center, so last week that is where I set it and it is installed!
Thanks,
Tim
