Got it Started...

Got it Started... Today...

Sounds like I have a few issues I still need to work out... I have good oil pressure and no gray smoke...

I was having trouble trying to get it started with the Throttle cable pulled out when I pushed it in I was able to get the truck to want to start... Currently it will not idle as well... I noticed that the former owner replaced the throttle advance cable and the choke cable so I'm sure he tried his hand at adjusting the carb...

So what's my next best source for trying to get it to idle better... Anywhere I should start from here...

Thanks for all the support and answering all my questions...

Maybe it's just me but it sounds like it's not hitting on all 6 cyls? Could be as simple as the idle speed adjustment screw needing turned in to the carb needing redone. My M43 ran but only with the choke partly closed. The carb was so dirty inside it's amazing it actually ran at all.

I agree it does sound down a cylinder... Hence it wasn't run long...

WHEN I FIRST GOT MY M, CYL#5 WAS OUT. IT STARTED HARD HARD, AND DIE AT IDLE. TURNED OUT IT WAS A BAD PLUG WIRE. MY ADVISE TO YOU IS JUST BECAUSE SOMETHING IS IN YOUR TRUCK IN A CERTAIN WAY, IT DOES NOT NECESSARILY MEAN THAT IT IS THE RIGHT WAY. CHANCES ARE YOU ARE RIGHT, AND THE PREVIOUS OWNER DID MESS WITH THE CARB. PERHAPS YOU SHOULD TAKE THE CARB APART AND INSPECT IT. I AM SURE THAT SOMEONE HERE HAS THE DIAGRAM OF THE CARB AND HOW IT SHOULD BE. THIS WAY YOU CROSS ONE THING OUT OF YOUR LIST OF WHAT IS GOING WRONG. I WILL BE GOING BACK TO GREECE THIS SUMMER FOR A WHILE, AND I WILL TRY TO START MY M AFTER 15 MONTHS THAT IT HAS BEEN SITTING AT MY FATHER'S FARM. IT WILL BE INTERSTING TO SEE WHAT HAPPENS.
LIFE IS SHORT AND ENDS UNEXPECTEDLY. MAKE EVERY MOMENT WORTH REMEMBERING.

Yeah like your saying it is hard to start... I cleaned the plugs re gapped them and I noticed a couple of the plug wires look suspect... When I got it started this morning the cadence of the motor sounded a lot better but still missing somewhere...
