We're having a military Retiree Appreciation Day next month on the old Fort Ord and my bosses knew I had an old war horse M37 so they asked if I'd bring it for a static display. After I advised it badly needs a paint job (in the correct color 24087) they said "that doesn't matter-the attendees will surely like it however it's painted", I agreed and am working out the details.
(I hope my starter holds up)

They were right. Most folks will love it no matter what color it is. Only the nit-pickiest of restorers will point out any inconsistencies in that regard. If anyone does say something, you can always say that the guy in the body shop was color blind and couldn't tell one shade of OD from another.
Do it Gary. You aren't in a contest so the color doesn't matter. People will appreciate your truck and you will have a good experience. Take some pics so we can all see how it goes.
Thanks Guys,
I will take some pix. Of course, this past weekend I'm outside putting on things like the weather stripping for the side windows, front splash guards, etc. (stuff I'd been meaning to do anyway but didn't get around to beforehand). Since next weekend is a long one, I'll tidy it up some more.
