Greetings all,
I came across a seat cushion this weekend that I've never seen or heard of. It is a driver seat bottom that seems to be a one-piece molded cushion. The top is an OD vinyl, underneath is a cushion foam layer around a white solid "cooler type" styrofoam core. The top, under the OD vinyl feels like some soft foam is there but the seat doesn't have much give, just some flex. Around the bottom edges are molded: Maher Pattern & Mfg Co. / MXP 691715 FSN 2540-784-6927 / DAAE07-69-C-1715 DAAE07-69-C-5321. The double contract numbers are interesting in themselves.
As soon as I can get into my Pics page, I'll post a photo. Anyone else seen these or know of them?

The USMC truck I recently purchased has one of those seats. I'm guessing they are a later replacement.

Re: Molded Driver Seat
I don't like it.
I prefer the "comfort" of the steel springs/burlap/horsehair/cotton batting/canvas type myself.

Lifer, I also wonder about it over the original seat I have now. When I found it, I set it on the ground and sat on it-no give. I'm short so it might make me sit too high off the pedals. At least I'll be able to see out the windshield
OK, I'm not that short but we'll see. I may just set it back for spare parts but I couldn't resist the novelty of it at the time.
