IDLE SPEED ADJUSTMENT
GOOD MORNING, MY M RUNS GREAT. 15F YESTERDAY BLOWING 40MPH. PULLED THE CHOKE PULLED THE THROTTLE A BIT, HIT THE STARTER AND OFF SHE WENT. AS GOOD AS MY TAURUS. TOOK HER FOR A RIDE ON THE BEACH ALL OK. SINCE I HAVE OWNED HER THE IDLE SPEED SEEMS, BY EAR, A LITTLE HIGH. WHAT ITS SUPPOSED TO BE SET AT? I WILL PHOTO TACH IT. AND WHERE IS THE IDLE SPEED ADJUSTMENT? THANKS BOB

Adjustment screw is on the linkage arm near where it slips on the governor shaft. We set the idle no lower than 600, 650 is better I think. I don't like it set too low as the oil pressure drops way down at idle on a well run engine. I have seen bearings beat out caused by idling excessively at a very low RPM. Watch the oil pressure reading as you adjust the idle, be sure the engine is warmed up to normal operating temp before adjusting.
