Good deal as well, 160 miles round trip more than worth the effort, wife & daughter even helped me unload it. :D

This is really the only bad spot, also most or all of the weld-nut that were empty are shot, neither a big deal.

Hey Bruce,
That one isn't too bad at all! Ironically it is the same color as the bed I picked up last year (ignoring the rust color)!

New Bed

Post by m-37Bruce »

In the middle of what was a field, behind the "Stars & Bars" military surplus store (now closed for quite a while) was my bed, sitting on a WC 12.
That is what saved it, I'm thinking? There are 8/9 vehicles still waiting for someone to get the fever.
A couple of M-135's, both dumps, one is an XM-135, a M-211 an M-38 and a pair of WC's that are spoken for. There was a APC with a tree growing up almost on top of it, Bob didn't even know it was there till they started bush hoggin'!

Hey old buddy, what are your plans for the new bed? I did not think yours was in that bad of shape. Kurt

Hey Kurt! Nice to hear from you! Mine is in a bit better shape-color comparison was more the theme for my last post.

You know, I now have your cab in place mated up with the bed I got in SLC last year, the M is now OD on the outside (just had to get some OD on it before the rains come) with fresh new tires, did the entire cooling system last weekend (radiator, thermostat, all new hoses and clamps), and still have a Painless wiring harness to install. Coming along and almost roadworthy-I also got the driver's door glass replaced this week-cost $100 bucks (ouch) but I now have good glass all the way around.

How are things in SoCal?

Some Good/Some Bad

My driver's rear fender is welded on, the tool box is rough at each opening, the rear upright panel looks like they shot rockets at it, some of the dents almost touch the cab.
The bad issues on this "new 2 me" bed are fixable with my new found welding skills. While I'm at it, I might as well use the bed floor, it is straighter than mine w/o any repairs. Hopefully there is someone this side of the world who can use my T/O's?
I guess the shop is getting busier every day isn't? Two more weeks till vacation time, looking forward to that! :P

We're supposed to get "1/4 to 1/2 inch of ice, followed by up to 2 inches of snow, capped with up to 3/4 inch of ice" tonight. Ought to be really pretty to look at tomorrow, but it's gonna be pure misery for driving in. Gonna be more than one wreck on the news tomorrow, I'll bet. :(

I don't know whether it was or not? I found it locally, about 80 miles away.
