M37 Communication Shelter For Sale

Post by Dave A. »

Hello. Brand new to this forum and glad to see one dedicated to the M37.

I have an M37 communication shelter that I have used for storage for a number of years. I retreived it from California recently (I'm active duty so move quite often) and now no longer need it. It fits perfectly in my 1953 M37 and I have also used it for camping, as weight in the back for extra traction, as a rather-infrequently seen M37 accessory and at MV shows.

Here's what the data plates show:
Radio Teletypewriter Set AN/GRC 46A
Stewart Warner Electronics
158.9 cubic feet
Gross weight 1175 lbs
Net Weight 320 lbs
74 inches long
60 inches high
57 and a quarter inches wide
45 inches wide at the bottom (to slide in to the M37 wheel weels

Let me know if you are interested and I will send you digital photos. Located in San Antonio, Texas, $600.00

M37 Shelter

I also found out that this shelter is officially known as a S-144/G. Photos are on their way.

Thank you.

Its very tempting, but probably too far off the beaten path for me to realistically grab...even with me currently in New Mexico.

It would make an excellent camper...but unfortunately, I'll probably have to pass.

M37 Comm Shelter for sale

Post by Dave A. »

Thanks for looking though Steve. I've had a number of folks ask for photos but no takers yet. In fact, I posted in on EPay but am not anticipating selling it there.

Looks like I'll have to use it to store future purchases of more OD stuff!

Shelter has been sold to a gentleman who is coming from Maryland, just before the holidays, to pick it up here in San Antonio.

Now, that will be a good OD/MV road trip!

Glad you found a buyer. :) I could have used it, myself, having been in the comm "business" in the AF for 30 years. It was too far away from me and my M37 isn't running yet. I hope he treats it well.
