Ive talked with a lot of Marines lately at different times that drove and were assigned M37's in Vietnam. I asked about the vapor lock and all and what did you do in Vietnam...
They put electric fuel pumps on them is what all of them said.

Re: Fuel Pump Question/Ideas
Interesting about the use of electric fuel pumps in Vietnam. Was there ever a tech bulletin or something making these changes??
Guess I'll find out this summer . Think I'll try the mechanical one before I make changes. As I said I made a new heat shield and fuel lines are not in original place. Much further from exhaust manifold. We'll see how it goes

Re: Fuel Pump Question/Ideas
Ive had 2 M37's ,
One with no electric extra pump and one with one. The one without did vapor lock once, but only the one time , even in the NC heat of the day it drove fine. So I cant say they are 100% needed but I don't want to be on the side of the road.
I was told by some of them they used in line fuel 24v pumps , and others used pumps like a Marine(boat) 24v pump.
