Nice progress.

when I roll up my windows, I open the door, and pull up on the glass to reduce wear on the gearing in the door. hal
Re: Grandpa’s M37
Best to adjust the vertical seal rails for just touching the glass when the door is closed.
Otherwise they get really hard to move and can pop the rubber out of the channel.
A light seal is all that is needed.

Working on the dash now. MWM doesn't carry the plates, but VPW does. $15/each!
I see some sets on ebay for much less. Anyone pick those up and can share feedback?

In my TO-DO list data plates are perhaps the last thing, so I haven't focused on them. But the ones offered in eBay seem fine, although I haven't seen them with the embossed lettering nor the thickness the old ones shown.

I got these in the mail finally. Not great. Missing holes on one, and the service plate holes are way off.
What kind of fasteners are folks using? Aluminum rivets?

back a few years ago, when I rebuilt my truck, and painted the dash, I decided to keep my faded dash plaques. because I am pretty sure they are original to my 1952 truck. Bu new ones sure look spiffy on other's dashes. Hal
Re: Grandpa’s M37
"dash plaques"... nope, they are data plates.

The glove box plates use rivets - Steel Tubular - 9/64 X 1/4, 15/64 Head - Property Plate - Resp Agency Plate - Weight and Dim Plate.
The other plates use No. 6 screws - Pan Head - 3/8in. Make sure you clean out the holes from paint before you put the screws in. Not all the plates line up with the holes perfectly. Not sure if it's due to the plate being off or the truck holes being out of alignment. I suspect repro plates.

always good to have a forum member correct my spelling and nomenclature. I get it wrong often. hal
Re: Grandpa’s M37
Thanks, I might use copper or brass for the rivets so they don’t rust. And easy to get.

1st Parade!
I was worried about engine temps but that was not an issue. Hardest part was finding a good gear. 1st Low was too slow, 2nd low was too fast. I needed a 1 1/2 gear!

Try 3rd gear in low range.
And I never worry about temps. Driving home from work today at 114F it never got above 190F in traffic.
