I got the dana 1000 series yokes but my steering shaft is stock(hollow) is there someone in the lower mainland that can cut the steering wheel splines in a solid shaft for a reasonable cost ?

Re: 265 cdn m37
Robyn, a good driveline shop should be able to help you out with splines. Unfortunately, I don't know which ones are still in business over there. I used Kaman in Burnaby for some very large turntable bearings that I needed to build a dock crane. They may be able to help or send you to someone who can. I will warn you, they were pricey. A small shop may be your best bet. Keep us posted on your progress...

Merry Christmas to me
just traded some Datsun parts for a 251/265 nicson engr co aluminum twin carb intake manifold

now the hard part.....do I run the stock cast dual on the ffpw or the m37.

what one would you run on what truck?

I would run the top one with headers from vpw on the ffpw
and the others on the m37
and the others on the m37
Thanks,TRAVIS

finally cleaned off the truck, under the truck and around the truck. scabbed up some stainless. used hose clamps and strips of steel to hold it together tacked in place then removed for the bead. a tig set would be nice but it was mild steel wire on the mig with co/ar mix.

Re: 265 cdn m37
I would absolutely run the stock 2 carb setup not the aluminum one it's going to run so much better having the intake bolted to the exsaust those intakes need heat to suspend the fuel in the intake correctly, goes against all normal auto performance mods but the flatheads like the intake heat, i have a built 251 and I just put on a single Webber 32/36 I'm Happy with the performance gain, that's cool you have a 265 I'm getting one soon I'm going to build it to the hill!

I would have ran 2 pipes but that's just my opinion
btw these trucks sound great with a thrush welded muffler, they are cheaper than stock and offer more ground clearance
and they come with a bumper sticker that adds 10 horsepower

t98 fun
if it was a car I would have run two pipes to the end but with the 37s exhaust crossing under the frame there was no room to accommodate two pipes crossing under the frame between the kick and shackle. its so tight that if I come off a big log or rock it is not likely to get squished.
onto the T98..........
so I got this beautiful like new t98 with the truck. the PO spent a lot of time and money on it. looks to have a new counter shaft new sycros and new gears but first. had some problems installing the rear seal retainer. the rear bearing snap ring has a .030 larger OD than a stock snap ring
no prob, swapped that out, bolted on the retainer, knocked in a seal, slid the yoke onto the splines...... and it didn't reach the seal. found a longer yoke but what a joke
looks like the PO installed a 2wd main shaft
it's ok ... I have a spare

no...I guess I don't
well it looks like I need to tear into theses

or turn down the 2wd shaft

Re: 265 cdn m37
well the one T98 is rusted in second and the cover will only come up about an inch.......filled with atf and put it off to the side. the second t98 looked great just a bit of red fuzz starting on the top most teeth. a little razor blade action and the interm trans was ready for install. filled with atf, then spun and drained. just need to put in a magnet plug some 50w and shes good to go.

hood hinges and cowl installed

sorted out the pcv system.

this is what I'm up to tonight
