Can anyone comment on the effectiveness of these defrost features?
Hiya,

I'm running the M151 heater into a M37 defrosting duct. It works pretty well, and air distribution is adequate. The only time it struggles is in a heavy, wet snow. The combination of a wiper system that wasn't designed for these conditions, and an air temp of 180 max, means that my windshield tends to load up.

It sure beats the winter that I didn't have anything but a chamois!

Defroster Duct

Post by mike_l »

I think the duct works pretty good though I only used it twice. It was only about 10-20 degrees for about 45 minutes each time. Not much of a test but it worked OK. Had more of a problem with the door windows fogging up as I recall.

I found a copy of the defroster dimensions from an old post. Try this: http://www.g741.org/photogallery/main.p ... ewsIndex=1

I did notice installing mine that you need to start the bolts on the drivers side then use an alignment pin to pry the pass side holes into alignment, i used an nos defroster not bent, anyone else have to do this?

also how did you adapt the 151 hose to the m37 duct or did you just leave it in the duct loose?

Mine mated up to the bolt holes with no problems but it was used and may already have be "aligned" at some point.
